Aurora
Aurora Aksnes is born June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. Popularly referred to as Aurora and often stylized with the letters in uppercase as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, launched in May, 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. The singer has released a number of high-profile cover songs, like Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which have been widely praised. Katy Perry, who endorsed the hit song Runaway by her, has given it some more recognition. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories involve finding an instrument hidden within her attic, then becoming fascinated with the sounds it produced. Her parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for a career or hobby but for growth. For this reason, she began writing music that was her own. As well as Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her decision to begin performing her music in public when her mom suggested they could help people to not become famous through her music but instead help the people around them understand the significance of what they do and how they could impact the world. She started playing piano when she was just 6 years old and started writing songs by the time she was nine. She didn't tell her family about it until she turned fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. As she says, she simply loves writing music. She says that music is her favourite way of feeling anything.
